GPPS

Description

GPPS plastic is the general grade polystyrene (GPPS) polystyrene (PS) is composed of styrene monomer (SM) aggregation, can be composed of a variety of synthesis methods, at present the industry mainly adopts the bulk polymerization method and suspension polymerization method. The English name of polystyrene is Polystyrene, as PS (hereinafter or PS). PS is a thermoplastic noncrystallinous resin mainly divided into general-grade polystyrene (GPPS, commonly known as toluene), impact-resistant polystyrene (HIPS, commonly known as modified benzene), and bubble-grade polystyrene (EPS).

characteristic

GPPS has shiny, transparent particles. Light, low price, low absorbent, good colorability, size stability, good electrical properties, transparent products, easy processing. GPPS is soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorhydrocarbons, aliphaketone and esters but only in acetone. Resistance of certain mineral oils, organic acids, alkali, salt, low alcohols and their aqueous solutions. The low water absorption rate still maintains its mechanical properties and dimensional stability in a wet environment. Excellent electrical performance, high volume and surface resistance, and is not affected by temperature and humidity changes, or by corona discharge. Radiation resistance is also very good.

Polystyrene was first industrialised by I.G.Farben, Germany, early in 1930, and commercial production began in the United States in 1937. Currently, polystyrene in the world thermoplastic resin, the production is ranked fourth, after polyethylene, PVC and polypropylene. There are 30~40 resins in 30 ~, nearly 100 brands, more than 400 grades, and output of 11 million tons / year, while PS accounts for about 65%.

Due to the simple production process of polystyrene and the rich sources of raw materials, it is produced in most countries and regions of the world.

China’s polystyrene mainly includes the subsidiaries of Sinopec, PetroChina and CNOOC to introduce the production devices and processes of foreign companies for production, as well as the joint venture or wholly owned enterprises of major foreign manufacturers in China, mainly for the domestic market.
