HIPS

Description

HIPS is a thermoplastic material made of elastomer-modified polystyrene. A two-phase system of rubber and continuous polystyrene phases has developed as a world-important polymer commodity, with a wide range of impact and processing properties, enabling extensive applications such as automotive, devices, electric products, furniture, furniture, household appliances, telecommunications, electronics, computers, disposable goods, medicine, packaging and entertainment markets.

Polystyrene is one of the oldest industrially produced thermoplastic polymers with a wide range of very versatile products. The advantages of this bright, pure noncrystalline plastic are easy machining, rigidity, size stability, and transparency, but the low impact strength limits its application.

High impulse resistant polystyrene, is a small amount of polybutadiene receiving technology to the polystyrene body. With the “island structure”, the base is plastic, and the dispersed phase is rubber. There are many features:

1. Impact-resistant polystyrene is a thermoplastic resin;

2. No odor, tasteless, hard material, and good dimensional stability after forming;

3. Excellent high dielectric insulation;

4. Non-quality and low-absorbent material;

5. Its gloss is good and easy to paint.

Application

HIPS is widely used in many appliances and industries, due to its manufacturing convenience and low cost. Major industrial and markets include packaging, disposable goods, appliances and consumer appliances, toys and entertainment supplies, construction products, and ornaments. The largest single application of HIPS is packaging, especially in the food industry, spending more than 30% worldwide
